Voodoo is dangerous

Sayings like “This happened to you for a reason” and “You’ve attracted this into your life” imply supernatural forces for which there is no evidence.¬†Over time, belief in such voodoo can lead to irrational thought patterns since your mind is no longer grounded in reality. Voodoo comes in many more flavors — and it’s prudent to avoid all of it: including psychics, acupuncturists, quantum mysticism, holistic “medicine,” and books like¬†The Secret.

Why do people buy in to voodoo? Life is deterministic. Some people can’t deal with that, so they make up imaginary things in their head to cope.
