Turn on your computer, phone, and tablet for a specific task

By default, keep your computer, phone, and tablet turned off. When you have a specific task that requires a device, turn it on, complete the task, and then turn it off.

If you currently spend every day in front of devices, you will be amazed at how much real work you get done when a device is only requisitioned for specific, limited use. That’s because when a device is turned on all day, you do things you would never do if the device was off: browse news, forums, or blogs; play games; obsessively check web analytics or stock prices; text message and chat; research asinine topics on Google. In short, turned-on devices tempt you to waste time.
