Teach by demonstration

“Instead of lecturing on how to factor a polynomial, I’ll just do some on the blackboard myself. Watch carefully, and raise your hand when you figure it out.” — Joan Gardner

Humans are hard-wired to imitate and emulate; therefore, the best way to teach a skill is for pupils to watch you do it.

You can write a book about how to play the violin, but your students will learn faster by watching you play it yourself.
