It’s realistic to be optimistic

History shows: in time, things are probably going to work out for you. You may endure setbacks, and it may take years, but as long as you stick to it you can achieve any reasonable goal. Therefore, it is realistic to be optimistic.

Pessimism is almost always irrational, because it ignores the fact that improvements can occur. If you wish to be pessimistic, you need a reason why, despite time and improvement, your goal cannot be reached.
