Great artists incubate

Whether it’s writing a movie script,┬ádesigning a website, or choreographing a dance, the artist’s second-best friend is his desk drawer.

Don’t try to publish a masterpiece in one weekend. Instead, when you think you have written the next Ulysses, put it in your desk drawer. Ignore it for a week. Then revisit it with fresh eyes, and you will see the work for what it truly is. Edit as necessary. Repeat this process until your work looks great, even with fresh eyes.
