Establish systems

Every time you encounter a problem, create a system to avoid encountering it again. There is just one condition: the benefit of the new system must outweigh the opportunity cost of not creating it.

Systems are very powerful because they save future time exponentially. Without systems, you cannot get ahead because you are too busy putting out fires to focus on the big things that matter. Systems also save future mental energy: with systems, your mind can rest knowing that certain conditions are guaranteed to have certain outcomes, leaving brain cycles available for more important matters.

Examples of systems include:
